Suggested Response:

• Since 2016, our government has a comprehensive whole-of-government approach to the Middle East helping make a real difference in Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, committing over $4 billion since 2016.
• In line with our international feminist policies, we are achieving strong results to help set the conditions for a secure, inclusive, gender-equitable and stable future.
• Canada's international assistance in the region has enabled the public education systems in Jordan and Lebanon to provide equitable access to quality education for nearly 2.6 million youth, and we've supported 88,000 women and men with improved vocational skills and jobs.
• This also includes essential food to about 7.5 million people per month, supporting immediate life-saving water, sanitation, and hygiene services for 2.7 million people, and providing sexual and reproductive health services to over 1.9 million people.
• Canada has also helped liberate millions of people from Daesh and built credibility as a reliable partner and ally. We are committed to working alongside our likeminded allies to promote stability across the Middle East.
