Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala has been killed in India. The Ontario-based rapper was shot while driving through Jawaharke, in the Mansa district of the Punjab.

• The Government of Canada is aware of the death of Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, who was killed outside of his hometown in the state of Punjab, India on May 29th.
• Known to many as Sidhu Moosewala, Mr. Sidhu was a talented Punjabi musician and rapper who spent many years in Canada where he first arrived as an international student.
• The Government of Canada has been in contact with Indian authorities regarding the death of Mr. Sidhu and we will continue to coordinate as the investigation proceeds.
