• The COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving global challenge, and the health and safety of all Canadians continues to be our government’s top priority.
• We are committed to ensuring that our essential Canadian fisheries sector receives the support needed to continue to provide high-quality, sustainably sourced fish and seafood.
• We are in close contact with our harvester, processor, indigenous leadership, and other sector groups and communities to respond to their concerns and the economic challenges this pandemic poses.
• Also, the Coast Guard remains at the ready to safeguard mariners, protect the marine environment, and support the shipping industry to ensure trades continues.
• We remain confident that all stakeholders and partners that operate in the maritime domain will be well positioned to rebound after this crisis.
