Suggested Response:

• Our Government is ensuring environmental risks linked to the development of major projects are addressed through impact and environmental assessments so that good projects can proceed.
• We recognize that major projects play a vital role in our economy in creating jobs and economic growth.

2018–2019 PUBLIC ACCOUNTS
o The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (now IAAC) expended $47.6 million of its $54.1 million budget for 2018–2019.
o Of the un-used expenditure authority, $3.6 million will be brought forward to fiscal year 2019–2020 to support activities related to assessments and increased activities to support implementation of the Impact Assessment Act, with the remainder lapsing.
