Issue/Question:
Parks Canada – Resumption of Visitor Services
Suggested Response:
The health and safety of Canadians remains the government’s top priority.
There have been a number of recent announcements by provincial governments regarding the opening of provincial parks and campgrounds.
While the temporary suspension of visitor services and visitor vehicle access at national parks and historic sites will remain in place until further notice, Parks Canada is working diligently to plan for resuming visitation at identified locations as circumstances permit.
These plans are well advanced and implementation may begin in the coming weeks.
Visitor access and services will align with the recommendations of public health authorities, will be focused on protecting health and safety, and will include measures to mitigate impacts on natural and cultural resources.
Parks Canada is also planning for the resumption of some operations for natural and cultural conservation, asset management and maintenance, and asset renewal
