Question Period Note: IREX VAPE PRODUCT RECALL

• Health Canada posted a recall for a vaping product called Irex magic 25000 puffs, a refillable vaping product. The company has reported that 3000 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between September 2024 and October 2024.

KEY MESSAGES
• Our government is committed to ensuring that consumer products on the Canadian market are safe. This includes protecting young children from ingesting toxic concentrations of nicotine in vaping products.
• Health Canada vigorously enforces all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements. We will not hesitate to take appropriate action where necessary, including conducting recalls, stop sales, product seizures and prosecutions.
• Health Canada will continue to hold the industry accountable to ensure Canadians, in particular children and youth, are protected from vaping products.
