Suggested Response:

• Canadians have told us that they want a clean and affordable energy future, and our government is delivering.
• Our government put in place legislation for major projects that will:
o protect our environment, communities, and waterways,
o restore public trust and respect Indigenous rights,
o ensure good projects go ahead, and
o support new jobs and economic opportunities.
• Listening to Canadians every step of the way, this legislation reflects a balanced approach to what was heard from Indigenous peoples, companies, provinces and territories, environmental groups, and the public over the course of three years of engagement.
• We continue to listen and are open to suggestions for implementing the new impact assessment and regulatory review process.
