The Government of Canada has implemented 29 of the 33 new or enhanced initiatives in the Action Plan for Official Languages 2023-2028: Protection – Promotion – Collaboration in its first year and the remaining 4 will all be launched during the current year.

Suggested Response:

Our Action Plan puts forward $1.4 billion in new investments, for a historic total of $4.1 billion over five years to, among other things, protect and contribute to official language minority communities’ vitality.

Implementation of Action Plan initiatives is proceeding well. Of the 33 new or enhanced initiatives, 29 were launched during the first year of implementation and the remaining 4 will be launched this year.

Dialogue sessions are ongoing with community organizations and official languages stakeholders to work on the implementation of new or enhanced initiatives "by and for" the communities.
