Issue/Question:

On October 24, 2024, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, the Honourable Marc Miller, announced the Immigration Levels Plan 2025-2027, which calls for a reduction in immigration levels while strengthening and promoting the economic prosperity of Francophone communities outside Quebec.

Suggested Response:

Our government announced its 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan, which increases Francophone immigration targets to strengthen and promote the economic prosperity of Francophone communities outside Quebec.

With the new Francophone Immigration Policy, the modernized Official Languages Act and the 2023-2028 Action Plan, our government is taking concrete steps to restore and increase the demographic weight of francophone communities outside Quebec.

We will continue to work closely with the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, the provincial and territorial governments, employers and francophone communities to help them adapt to the realities of this demographic growth.
