2024-25 MAIN ESTIMATES – CANADIAN HERITAGE

Suggested Response:

The Department of Canadian Heritage is estimating budgetary expenditures of $1.89 billion in the 2024-25 Main Estimates of which $253.6 million is related to Sport programs.

Background:

The net funding decrease of $10.9M for Sport programs under the Department of Canadian Heritage
includes:
• Vote 5 – Grants and Contribution budget decrease of $18.4 million;
Partially offset by:
• Vote 1 – Operating budget increase of $7 million; and
• Increase of $0.5 million in statutory items for contributions to employee benefit plans (EBP)
