Implementation of the modernized Official Languages Act

Suggested Response:

Our 2024 budget will ensure the success of official languages reform by investing $26 million over 5 years to implement the Official Languages Act and $9.6 million to increase the number of translated federal court decisions.

Background:

On June 20, 2023, Bill C-13 - An Act to amend the Official Languages Act, to enact the Use of French in Federally Regulated Private businesses and to make related amendments to other Acts received Royal Assent. The bill was tabled in the House of Commons on March 1, 2022.
