Cuts at CBC/Radio-Canada

Suggested Response:

Our government has been closely monitoring the cuts announced by Radio-Canada last December, and we respect the work and independence of the commissioner conducting the investigation.

Background:

In Budget 2024, the Government proposes to provide $42 million over 2024-2025 to CBC/Radio-Canada's news and entertainment programming to ensure that all Canadians, including rural, remote, Indigenous, and minority-language communities, have access to high-quality, independent news and entertainment programming.
