Background:

The net funding increase for the Official Languages programs under the department of Canadian Heritage
includes:
• Vote 5 – Grants and Contribution budget increase of $78.3 million;
• Vote 1 – Operating budget increase of $4.7 million; and
• Increase of $0.4 million in statutory items for contributions to employee benefit plans (EBP).
