Issue/Question:

Funding for National Acadian Day community events.

Suggested Response:

Over the next three years, Canadian Heritage will provide $1.5 million in funding for celebrations of National Acadian Day.

Background:

In 2019, the federal budget granted temporary funding of $500,000 to the Celebration and Commemoration Program for National Acadian Day. In 2021, this funding was renewed for a three-year period. Budget 2024 renewed the funding for another three-year period, ending in 2026–27.
