Elimination of the Business Innovation component of the Canada Periodical Fund following the Refocusing Government Spending Plan

Suggested Response:

After committing over $2 billion in supplemental funding to Canada’s cultural sector over the last three years, our government committed to returning spending to a pre‑pandemic path in Budget 2023.

Background:

The Canada Periodical Fund (CPF) provides financial assistance to Canadian magazines and non-daily community newspapers, in print and/or digital format, to enable them to overcome market disadvantages and continue to provide Canadian readers with the content they choose to read.
