Suggested Response:
• Through Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan), we are delivering COVID-19 recovery programs in the Prairies, to help businesses and communities bounce back from the economic impact of the pandemic.
• This includes $600 million* in new economic recovery measures announced in Budget 2021, which will provide targeted support to businesses and communities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
• PrairiesCan is accepting applications for these programs. Our intent is to deliver this funding quickly to ensure businesses get the support they need

If pressed on support during the pandemic
• Since the onset of the pandemic, PrairiesCan moved quickly to deliver $461 million in relief funding to over 6,800 Prairie businesses, to maintain jobs and save families’ livelihoods.
• PrairiesCan has also been flexible with how it supports businesses facing trouble. We deferred scheduled payments, extended project completion dates, and streamlined the claims process.
• These investments and actions are helping thousands of businesses across the West mitigate the pandemic's impacts, and maintain jobs essential to the well-being of Canadians and their communities.

The figure of $600 million was the total allocated to both PrairiesCan and PacifiCan.
