  • Transitioning to a net-zero economy is an opportunity for job creation and long-term growth and diversification.
  • We must work to ensure all workers have the skills and opportunity to prosper in Canada’s clean economy.
  • Our government will establish a two billion dollar Futures Fund to support this transition in the most heavily affected provinces: Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • These provinces have a large number of skilled workers and businesses that can be leveraged to meet global clean energy demand.
  • Our government will work with local stakeholders, who know their communities best, to design this initiative.
