Issue/Question:
The Government of Canada established the Canadian Postal Service Charter in 2009 to outline expectations regarding service standards in providing postal services to Canadians, with a review it every five years. In 2018, the Government affirmed that Canada Post was expected to continue to meet the existing expectations in the Charter.
Suggested Response:
- The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring transparency in how Canada Post provides quality postal services that meet the needs of Canadians
- In 2022, the Government undertook public opinion research to better understand the views of Canadians, Indigenous Peoples, and Businesses on how Canada Post serves them today and how they wish to be served into the future
- The input received through these surveys will help the review of the Canadian Postal Service Charter to determine if any adjustments are needed going forward
