Question Period Note: MY VAC ACCOUNT ONLINE SERVICES

• My VAC Account is a secure online portal for Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP members to connect with Veterans Affairs Canada anywhere, anytime.

• Family members who are receiving benefits directly from Veterans Affairs Canada can also register for My VAC Account.

• Through My VAC Account, Veterans can apply online for Veterans Affairs Canada benefits and services, upload documents to support applications, track the status of applications, receive online correspondence (forms and letters), view a summary of their benefits, and connect directly with Veterans Affairs Canada staff through secure messaging.

BACKGROUND – MY VAC ACCOUNT ONLINE SERVICES
Overview:
My VAC Account is Veterans Affairs Canada’s online service channel. It is a simple and secure way to do business online with our Department.

It is available to Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members as well as still serving and retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police members. Family members who are receiving VAC benefits can also register for their own account.

My VAC Account users can:
• search for and learn more about Veterans Affairs Canada benefits and services
• apply for benefits and services
• upload documents to support their applications
• receive mail online
• connect with us through secure messaging
• track the status of their applications
• view a summary of their Veterans Affairs Canada benefits
• sign up for direct deposit or change banking information
• update their contact information

1. My VAC Account has more than 100,000 users as of September 2019, which include Veterans, still-serving Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police members, and their family members.

2. There are typically around 160,000 logins to My VAC Account monthly, and traffic continues to grow.

3. There are more than 1,600 new My VAC Account users each month.
