• Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)’s Estimates reflect the Government’s continued commitment to Veterans to restore critical access to services and improve the long-term financial security and independence for all Veterans and their families.
• Over 90% of the Department’s budget represents payments to Veterans, their families and other program recipients.
• VAC’s budget reflects the historic steps that have been taken to ensure Canadian Veterans and their families are provided with the support they need.
• Through these Estimates, VAC’s budget will increase by $300.4M from $7,853 million to $8,154 million.
• These contributions for Veterans are an important part of achieving Canada’s NATO targets.

VAC’s budget will increase by $300.4 million, representing 3.8% increase over current budget. VAC’s budget will increase from $7,853 million to $8,154 million in relation to the following transfers and adjustments:

o This transfer of funds will be used to fund pressures on the Veterans Emergency Fund.
