Suggested Dataset: Historical Fisheries Catch Data

This dataset would include historical harvest data for all Pacific and Atlantic fisheries. Data would encompass harvested weights and landed values for multiple species within every type of fishing licence offered by DFO. For Pacific fisheries, these data are already available from the following webpage (particularly 1996-2005): http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/stats/comm/summ-somm/index-eng.htm Unfortunately, the formatting of the data in these links makes them very difficult to work with. A single, comprehensive dataset would be useful for enhancing the public's knowledge of marine fisheries and would not violate DFO's privacy policies.
