Suggested Dataset: Obstacle Limitation Surface

Transport Canada
Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS) are a series of surfaces that set the height limits of object around an airport, runway or helicopter pad. It would contain the main approach and transitional surfaces for runways and the outer surface for airport around Canada. OLS are used during the planning process for developers/municipalities alongside municipal zoning regulations to define permissible heights around aerodromes for site specific applications. Flight paths polygons could be created with an elevation attribute at sea level. Reference points could also be giving to help create an outline of the flight path.
