Purpose:
At the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNO3), co-chaired by France and Costa Rica, which was held in Nice from June 9 to 13, with parallel activities in Nice and Monaco beginning on June 7, Ambassador Dion was the highest-ranking Canadian representative and head of delegation until his departure. In this capacity, he represented Canada at high-level events (Blue Economy and Finance Forum, Ocean Decade Alliance, BNJJ family photo) and signed on behalf of Minister Freeland an initiative co-chaired by Canada (High Ambition Coalition for a Quiet Ocean).
