(Slovakia): Meeting and press conference with HE Miroslav Lajcak, Foreign Minister. Roundtable on Russia and Ukraine hosted by Central European Policy Institute. Inaugurated new Canadian auto parts plant in Svaty Jur, Slovakia. (Krakow): Tour of Wawel Castle, whose treasures Canada safeguarded in World War II and meeting with Professor Marcin Fabianski. Laid flowers at the tomb of former President Lech Kaczynski and Maria Kaczynski. (Oswiecim): Meeting with Mr. Piotr Cywinski, Director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. Visit to Auschwitz I Extermination Camp and laid flowers at the Death Wall. Visit to Birkenau Extermination Camp (Auschwitz II) and laid wreath at international monument. (Warsaw): Meetings with HE Radowslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and joint media availability. Meeting with Solidarity Fund PL and European Endowment for Democracy and other NGOs. Meeting with Holocaust survivors and participants in the March of the Living. Reception with Canadian and Polish members of the business community. Meet and greet with Canadian embassy staff. Interviews with Macleans and Rzeczpospolita. (Latvia): Meeting with HE Edgars Rinkevics, Minister of Foreign Affairs and joint media availability. Visit to the Museum of the Occupation. Media callbacks. Working dinner with Minister Rinkevics and Canadian and Latvian delegation members. Working breakfast with HE Andris Berzins, President of Latvia. Participated in tree-planting ceremony with President Berzins. Meeting with HE Raimonds Vejonis, Minister of Defence. Visit to the site of the Riga Jewish Ghetto, the Great Choral Synagogue memorial and the Rumbula Forest Memorial. (Estonia): Reception with members of Canadian and Estonian business community. Meet and greet with staff of the Embassy Office. Attended Freedom Online Conference. Meeting with HE Urmas Paet, Foreign Minister; HE Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President. Media callbacks.
