Purpose:
General Vance, CDS, will attend the Asia-Pacific conference (PACOM) which is being hosted by Adm H.B. Harris, Jr, Commander US Pacific Command (USPACOM) and co-hosted by Gen H. DCA Iriberri, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines. The objectives of the trip are to participate in the PACOM conference which has the theme '' Forging cooperative ties amid emerging challenges to secure our common future"; to hold bilateral meetings with key representatives of the Ministries of Defence of the countries present; to increase familiarity with close allies, build links, and get a better understanding of defense issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
