Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada 2023 - 2024

As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conference expenditures for Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024.

Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.

Mandate:

As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conferences expenditures for the Administrative Tribunal Support Service of Canada (ATSSC) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024.

Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.

ATSSC’s travel, hospitality and conference expenditures support the delivery of the following core programs and services to Canadians: The ATSSC is responsible for providing support services and facilities to several federal administrative tribunals by way of a single, integrated organization. These services include the specialized services required by each tribunal (e.g., registry, research and analysis, legal and other mandate or case activities specific to each tribunal), as well as internal services (e.g., human resources, financial services, information management and technology, accommodations, security, planning and communications).

Explanation of significant variances compared with previous fiscal year

Total travel:

Compared to fiscal year 2022-23, the ATSSC’s travel expenditures increased substantially due to the continued resumption of travel related to in-person hearings and other operational activities following Covid-era travel restrictions.


Hospitality:

Compared to fiscal year 2022-23, departmental hospitality expenditures have decreased nominally.

Conference fees:

Compared to fiscal year 2022-23, the departmental conference fees have increased nominally.
