As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conference expenditures for Export Development Canada for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.
Mandate:
To support and develop Canada’s export trade and Canadian capacity to engage in that trade and to respond to international business opportunities. Amounts reported exclude taxes.

Explanation of significant variances compared with previous fiscal year
Total travel:
Compared to fiscal year 2024-25, EDC's travel expenditures increased mainly due to the resumption of operations, heightened departmental commitments, and expanded engagement in national and international efforts. Amounts reported exclude tax.
Hospitality:
Compared to fiscal year 2024‑25, the increase in EDC’s hospitality expenditures is largely attributable to higher hospitality activity associated with the return to in‑person events.
Conference fees:
Compared to fiscal year 2024‑25, the increase in EDC’s conference fees is mainly do to resumption of in person attendance at conferences .Minister and minister’s exempt staff - International travel:
