Farm Products Council of Canada 2018 - 2019
As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conference expenditures for Farm Products Council of Canada for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019.
Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.
Mandate:
The FPCC is an active participant in ensuring that all Canadians benefit from the marketing, promotion and research of agricultural products. It is also known for its leardership in maintaining and promoting efficient and competitive agricultural industries.

Explanation of significant variances compared with previous fiscal year
Total travel:
Compared with fiscal year 2017-18, the Farm Products Council of Canada total travel expenditures increased by $31K due to the staffing of the Council vacant positions (Chairperson and Member) that requires to travel as per their mandate and due to the holding of a public hearing as part of an inquiry into the merits of establishing a Canadian Industrial Hemp Promotion and Research Agency.
Hospitality:
Compared with fiscal year 2017-18, the Farm Products Council of Canada total hospitality expenditures increased by $2K which is mainly due to the additional Council meetings participants (new Chairperson and Member) and the holding of a public hearing as part of an inquiry into the merits of establishing a Canadian Industrial Hemp Promotion and Research Agency
