As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conference expenditures for Northern Pipeline Agency Canada for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022.
Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.
Mandate:
The Agency was established by the Northern Pipeline Act in 1978 and has a mandate to carry out federal responsibilities with respect to the planning and construction of the Canadian portion of the Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline by Foothills Pipe Lines Ltd. The Agency plays a key role in supporting efficient and expeditious regulatory approval, while ensuring environmental protection and social and economic benefits for Canada while minimizing any adverse effects.

For the second consecutive year, no travel expenditures were incurred due to the restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
