As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conference expenditures for Parole Board of Canada for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023.

Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.

Mandate:

Expenditures on travel, hospitality and conference fees incurred by federal departments and agencies are related to activities that support a departmental or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities. In particular, for the Parole Board of Canada it is to contribute to the Government of Canada’s outcome of a safe and secure Canada by making timely conditional release, record suspension, and expungement decisions and clemency recommendations in an open and accountable manner, while respecting the rights and dignity of both offenders and victims, in accordance with its statutory responsibilities and authorities.

Total travel:

During 2022-23, expenditures related to travel activities continued to increase to support operational activities as pandemic restrictions were lifted.


Hospitality:

During 2022-23, expenditures related to hospitality continued to increase to support operational activities as pandemic restrictions were lifted.

Conference fees:

During 2022-23, expenditures related to conference fees continued to increase to support operational activities as pandemic restrictions were lifted.
