As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conference expenditures for Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025.
Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.
Mandate:
Expenditures on travel, hospitality and conference fees incurred by federal departments and agencies are related to activities that support a departmental or agency mandate and the government’s priorities. Exhibitions, conferences and trade shows are important platforms for outreach and awareness building about CCOHS as it provides opportunity to meet directly with clients to help foster business relationships and understand the needs of specific sectors and regions. More than that, through our conference and speakers bureau program, CCOHS is able to showcase its expertise, products, and services and demonstrate their value to workers, employers and governments in Canada.

Explanation of significant variances compared with previous fiscal year
Total travel:
In fiscal year 2024-2025, travel expenditures increased by $4,480 compared to 2023-2024. The increase reflects expanded efforts to raise occupational health and safety awareness among workers in Canada.
Hospitality:
Departmental hospitality expenditures for the fiscal year 2024-2025 increased by $1,230 compared to 2023-2024. This increase is driven by growth in the number of in-person meetings.
Conference fees:
Departmental conference expenditures in fiscal year 2024-2025 increased by $940 compared to 2023-2024. The increase reflects expanded efforts to raise occupational health and safety awareness among workers in Canada.Minister and minister’s exempt staff - International travel:
