Purpose:
The objective of the visit is for the VP to gain a better understanding of the local environment at the Northwest Angle, including how Canadian residents travel through and cross the border to access essential goods and services.
He would also like to gain firsthand insight into the traveller experience when entering the United States. Ideally, this would involve travelling by water, using the ROAM application to report entry to U.S. authorities and completing telephone reporting upon returning to Canada.
The VP will also meet with First Nation counterparts in Sioux Narrows on June 23
