Purpose:
This proposed travel is aligned with the CBSA’s International Strategic Framework’s thematic priorities of Contraband & Customs Enforcement, and Facilitation and Compliance as participation at these meetings allows Canada to exchange best practices and influence policy within the WCO on topics such as combatting illegal export activity related to the export of illicit substances (e.g. fentanyl), stolen vehicles and cannabis, growth of illicit trade via small parcels, risk profiling systems, digitalization and the use of innovative technologies.
