Reason for expensive airfare is there was a snowstorm in Washington, DC and the Air Canada flight from Reagan Airport was cancelled.
United flight from Washington, DC Dulles was one of the few flights flying – had to purchase ticket at the last moment in order to get to Ottawa for important meeting
