Purpose:
New York-GPEDC: The Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy, Elissa Golberg led Canada’s delegation to the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC)’s first ever Senior Level Meeting (SLM) at the United Nations Headquarters on July 13 and 14. The effectiveness challenges and priorities for the future to accelerate country-level progress on the SDGs. Ms. Golberg moderated a plenary discussion on the way forward for the GPEDC, and provided opening remarks for the session on effective triangular cooperation. Prior to the SLM, Ms. Golberg hosted an information breakfast meeting with the CANZUS (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States) constituency.
New York-HLPF: The Assistant Deputy Minister Elissa Golberg was alternate head of the Canadian delegation to the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development from July 15 to July 17, 2019 | the ADM moderated a side-event on the IDPS Peace Vision 2019-2022; delivered a joint Canada-Australia-New Zealand (CANZ) statement at the High Level Event on ICPD+25; co-chaired a meeting on the THK Roadmap for Blended Finance with the OECD/DAC Chair Susanna Moorehead; acted as panelist at IOM-led side event on migration data; and with Canadian stakeholders and several senior UN and International organization officials from UNFPA, DESA, OCHA, and IOM.
