Case Description:

Failure to Declare a Potential Conflict of Interest.

A protected disclosure was received under the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act, alleging a wrongdoing pursuant to Subsection 8(e) of the Act, in that an employee did not submit a confidential report regarding ownership of a company and that the employee was performing remunerated work in areas closely related to his/her employment with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

The departmental investigation process found that the employee did not submit a confidential report concerning ownership of a business, and the employee did not declare involvement in other remunerated work in areas closely related to employment within PWGSC, contrary to the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector and the PWGSC Code of Conduct.

Recommendations and Corrective Measures:

Corrective action has been taken.
