Through this 30-month project, Out on the Shelf Inc. will address the needs and barriers to equality for 2SLGBTQI+ communities. It will address the need to provide resources and support to the 2SLGBTQI+ people, while addressing barriers faced by them in the Guelph-Wellington Region. The project will achieved this by: 1) developing and testing education resources for service providers to address barriers across multiple service sectors; 2) developing and testing resources and a workshop series to support 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their families to better access services and better advocate for themselves when facing barriers; 3) Develop resources outlining 2SLGBTQIA+ services and programs in the region; and 4) Create educational resources outlining the history of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community both within the region and globally.

Through this 30-month project, PEERS Alliance Inc. will address the needs and barriers to equality for 2SLGBTQI+ communities in PE. This will be achieved by engaging directly with the intersectionality of the 2SLGBTQ+ community through community engagement, accompaniment for system navigation, advocacy for policy change, and education to promote equality and address biases among service providers and employers.

This projects aims to empower local, national and regional civil society actors to address injustice against LGBTQ2AI people. This approach involves using the law to increase the ability of LGBTQ2AI persons to assert their rights and regain control over their lives. This will be achieved through interrelated individual and collective empowerment approaches that promote: 1) improved ownership of human rights by individuals and organizations from the LGBTQ2IA community, through outreach and training; 2) strengthened legal aid and legal aid services to facilitate access to the courts by victims of human rights violations at the local, national and regional level; 3) support for strategic litigation of landmark human rights cases; and, 4) strategic advocacy support to foster structural, cultural and systemic change.

Project activities include: (1) creating guidance documents on the impacts of conflict-related sexual violence on men survivors and on legal and policy barriers relating to access to justice and healthcare; (2) providing analysis of emblematic cases of conflict-related sexual violence against men and boys in Ukraine for international justice mechanisms; (3) conducting capacity strengthening workshops for a network of men survivors; (4) creating guidance for the network of men survivors on access to justice and healthcare in Ukraine; and (5) creating referral pathways and providing mental health and psychological support services to the members of the network of male survivors.

Contributing to the democratization process in Brazzaville, Congo, through training on citizenship, the defence and promotion of human rights, the rule of law and sustainable peace, and through theatrical activities.

For all these reasons, the MRC wants to engage the services of a firm to plan the connection from the sports centre to the P’tit Train du Nord trail (234 km from Green Route 2), an active mobility link connecting two major sports infrastructures.

The grant will support the OECD/NEA Risk Communication Training, including preparation modules and a four-day in-person session in Ottawa for global regulatory and technical professionals. Funding will aid curriculum development and speaker costs.
