Lightweight neural network approaches to emulate ice-ocean systems

Simple physics-based models to forecast ice cover breakup and ice jam floods in rivers of Canada – Phase II Yukon applications

Summary:
This project focuses on developing in-house AI tools to create high-quality visual effects for television production. By leveraging Canadian talent and training AI models on project-specific data, the initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of AI-generated imagery. The goal is to complement existing platforms and integrate innovative workflows into production, driving new capabilities in visual storytelling while boosting Canadian expertise in AI and digital media.

The youth's job responsibilities include expanding commercial markets served, with a focus on the luxury home market, condominium market (targeting builders and developers), spa and resort market, and wellness market. The role also involves assisting in the development of a sales strategy for the upcoming mobile unit, promoting products through direct sales, events, and shows, and contributing to the enhancement of the prospect-to-customer experience. This includes providing insights to improve internal processes and offering recommendations to enhance promotional assets and sales tools.

Town of Hay River, NT is highly susceptible to springtime flooding due to annual ice jamming and the effects of freshet in the Hay River as it flows north into Great Slave Lake.

The cold immersion product market is growing quickly, as is the competitive landscape. Many outdoor wellness events and athlete-related activities are prime marketing opportunities for cold immersion and other wellness products (e.g., consumer sampling, sales engagements, brand exposure). Public events require the use of commercially compliant tubs to ensure the health and safety of each user. Currently, there are no commercially-compliant mobile tubs available on the market. We will be the first in Canada, possibly in North America. This prototype will be used a) to test the market; b) to provide grass roots sales and marketing opportunities for IWBC; and c) provide another revenue stream for the company.

This project will replace and increase capacity of the two bridges to withstand the future impacts of climate change related events such as ice jams, debris flows and flooding. and prevent damage or loss of public infrastructure that would threaten community resilience.
