About this information

In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.

The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.

Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

MNC Collab - PACAAL - In vivo potency assessment of candidate antibodies (LX-96) for AL amyloidosis

Agreement Number:

1027009

Duration: from Dec 4, 2024 to Jul 31, 2025
Description:

As part of Multinational Corporate Collaboration Program, the project “PACAAL” will focus on using established mouse models to evaluate 4 top candidate antibodies co-developed by Paradox and Eli Lilly for the treatment of kappa light chain amyloidosis. After in vivo evaluation of the candidates, we will nominate a development candidate to move forward in IND-enabling studies.

Agreement Number:

1003392

Duration: from Jan 11, 2023 to Apr 30, 2024
Description:

Identification, characterization, and screening of monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of ? and ?-light chain amyloidosis and drug discovery for ALECT2 amyloidosis. Potential candidates will be screened for in vitro binding affinity and specificity and for in vivo activity in cell and small animal models.

Agreement:

Selection and characterization of humanized antibody candidate for the treatment of kappa light chain amyloidosis

Agreement Number:

994401

Duration: from Aug 8, 2022 to Feb 28, 2023
Description:

AL amyloidosis is a life-threatening disease caused by the misfolding of free immunoglobulin light chains (LC) which deposit as light chain amyloid (AL) in the heart, kidney, and nervous system, causing organ failure and death. There are currently no existing therapies that direct remove these deposits from organs. We have identified a murine monoclonal antibody, LX-96, that specifically binds to misfolded and aggregated light chains of the kappa isotype, while ignoring the native light chain or intact immunoglobulins. The goal of this project is to humanize murine LX-96 and select a humanized developmental candidate for downstream manufacturing and IND-enabling toxicity studies through in-house and commercial screening assays.
