Parks Canada’s long-term goal is to establish at least one national park in each of Canada’s terrestrial regions. The system represents the diversity of natural regions and landscapes in Canada.

The purpose of this dataset is to identify the 39 terrestrial regions of Canada including whether or not they are presently represented by a national park.

Parks Canada protects Canada’s historical and archaeological objects, cultural landscapes and archaeological sites. Buildings and engineering work that are cultural resources are measured under a separate performance indicator.

Parks Canada supports the commemoration of history through formal recognition programs. This indicator tracks the total number of places, people, and events of importance to Canadians that are formally recognized. Formal recognition is defined under a statute and the specific form of recognition is given by the Minister responsible for Parks Canada or through a formal inscription on the List of World Heritage Sites.

This project automates the processing of applications for some Temporary Resident Visas and Work Permits made under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel initiative (CUAET). The system automates positive eligibility determinations, recording of positive admissibility determinations, and approvals for some applications.
