This project aims to continue to support the advancement of women in Canadian agriculture through activities focused on collaboration, knowledge mobilization and the national network that supports engagement and advancement at all levels (regional, provincial and national). The project aims to implement the National Action Plan (developed in Phase 1) and utilize the updated data to continue supporting leadership development of women in agriculture and agri-food.

This project aims to create employment opportunities for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community members, helping to disrupt the cycle of poverty and increase economic activity; promote urban and rural sustainable agriculture practices, and provide education to BIPOC youth about the importance of regenerative organic farming; as well as empower BIPOC youth by allowing them to lead and grow a project that will educate others nationally, and help food insecure communities in Nova Scotia.

Volunteers from community organizations across Canada help eligible people complete and file their taxes for free through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)’s CVITP or through Revenu Quebec’s Income Tax Assistance – Volunteer Program (ITAVP). The CVITP Grant helps off-set costs incurred by community organizations that host free tax clinics and provides funding for the total number of income tax returns filed.
The CVITP Grant is a three year pilot beginning with the 2020 taxation year (returns filed from February 2021 until May 2021) and concluding after tax year 2022 (returns filed up to May 31 2023).

This project aims to cultivate a future where Black Canadians thrive in the agricultural industry. By addressing barriers, this initiative seeks to foster land ownership, fair labour practices, and access to traditional foods.

This project aims to support new entrants into the agriculture sector. Young Agrarians (YA) has a deep understanding of new and young farmers. Since 2012, it has developed a ‘Grow-a-Farmer’ strategy, and a suite of programs that provide access to land, business mentorship, on-farm training, e-learning, educational events, resources and referral networks. YA programs attract new entrants from diverse backgrounds to build leadership and capacity on the ground, while addressing labour market challenges, training needs, and providing business start-up supports.

This project aims to maximize the opportunities for equity-deserving farmers to access training, mentorship, and networking so that they succeed and lead in Canadian agriculture. A cohort of equity-deserving farmers and farm workers will coalesce around training, mentorship, financial application supports, networking, building and sharing skills.

This project aims to support the advancement of women in Canadian agriculture through research, collaboration, knowledge mobilization and establishing a national network that supports engagement and advancement at all levels. The results will support work toward the goal of women holding at least 30 percent of the industry leadership positions by 2030.

This project aims to help underrepresented groups, namely Indigenous Peoples and racialized persons, fully participate in the Canadian agricultural sector by engaging them in an inclusive consultation process and in educational workshops. The project will enable these communities to shape the future of Canadian agriculture by informing policy, developing skills in regenerative agriculture, and ensuring that resources are available and adapted to their needs.

This project aims to create a best-practice model of reconcile action in farming by researching and expanding regenerative agriculture methods to include traditional Mi’kmaq knowledge and teachings.

This project aims to create a positive forum to showcase best Indigenous agricultural practices alongside Western science, to determine how the knowledge systems can be braided together to champion youth involvement in agriculture and foster inclusivity for the event.
