Grants and Contributions

About this information

In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.

The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.

Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Text-to-3D Artificial Intelligence Engineering Workflows

Agreement Number:

1037905

Duration: from Dec 1, 2025 to Dec 14, 2026
Description:

Modern engineering workflows are complex, involving large 3D models, technical documents, and structured data. Current tools demand manual effort and expertise to extract data and build models. Our vision is to develop a Text-to-3D AI Assistant that lets engineers interact with models and documents using natural language. This assistant will convert text into structured 3D outputs, reducing setup time, improving accuracy, and making advanced tools more accessible. This proposal details our plan to build the first intelligent Text-to-3D assistant for Integrated Design Suite (IDS), using AI-driven data extraction, reasoning, and natural language processing to automate key workflows.

Hiring of a 3D Designer and Modeller

Agreement Number:

1027011

Duration: from Jan 20, 2025 to Feb 13, 2026
Description:

In brownfield projects, it is essential to create 3D models from scans using Scan-to-BIM processes. This involves developing 3D models from existing *E57 files and generating intelligent 3D models in the *ddd format compatible with IDS, our existing platform.

These models must also be interoperable in the *IFC format for seamless export to Revit. The proposed approach emphasizes accurately extracting measurements from scans, converting them into the *ddd file format, and exporting them to Revit for customer validation.

The generated models will prioritize accuracy and will be validated to ensure they align with the commonly used Revit *rvt file formats, ensuring realism and reliability.

IDS-DXF – Integrated Design Suite -DXF Module.

Agreement Number:

1020683

Duration: from Jul 22, 2024 to Mar 17, 2025
Description:

The objective of this project is to develop a high-fidelity CAD file format conversion tool within the IDS(TM) platform, specifically designed to convert DDD files to conventional industrial CAD formats (such as *dxf,*Ifc,*obj,*gltf). This tool will address the complexities of 3D data structures, ensuring accurate and efficient conversions essential for interoperability across diverse CAD systems. The project involves thorough literature and patent searches, development of proprietary algorithms for handling intricate geometric entities, and comprehensive documentation covering software architecture, user guides, and API integration.
